Professional Profile

Stephen started his legal career working for the Internal Revenue Service in the Estate and Gift Tax Division and subsequently headed the Estate Planning Department for a boutique Business Management Firm in Beverly Hills, California. In 1999 he established the Law Offices of Stephen A. Newstadt which specializes in Estate and Business Planning. His practice has been devoted to serving a wide variety of corporate and individual clients on projects ranging from Complex Business/Estate Planning to preparing wills and trusts for individuals. Stephen has drafted hundreds of Estate Plans, from your typical A-B Trusts to complex Family Limited Partnerships and Qualified Family Residence Trusts. He views each client on an individual basis and each estate plan is designed and formulated using the most innovative and creative estate planning tools to mitigate taxes, secure assets and provide a systematic approach for the transfer of wealth from one generation to the other.

In conjunction with Estate and Business Planning, Stephen has established numerous entities (e.g., corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies) and has guided the organizations through various stages of growth.

Stephen enjoys listening to people and counseling them. Stephen is sensitive to the stress clients feel when a loved one dies, when businesses are being formed or dissolved, and when clients contemplate their own deaths in the course of doing their personal estate planning.
